ULMS RON SCHMUCKER MEMORIAL PURSE INCREASED; BILL FINLAY MEMORIAL $1,500 TO WIN FOR PURE STOCKS AT LATROBE

LATROBE, PA (July 18, 2023) Saturday’s ULMS Super Late Model race will now pay $5,000 to win, along with a purse increase throughout the field, thanks to the generosity of the family of Ron Schmucker and SNB Promotions.

The ULMS Ron Schmucker Memorial will be run with the previously rained-out (June 24) Bill Finlay Memorial paying $1,500 to the Joe’s Auto Body & Towing Pure Stocks winner.

“We have limited opportunities to run some of the previously rained-out

events,” Promoter Dennis Bates said. “To have the Schmucker and Finlay families involved in one of our biggest races of the year is an honor.”

The field size is expected to increase with extra money added to the winner’s share and throughout the field.

While Tyler Emory from Kings George, VA, leads the series in points by eight points over Ryan Montgomery going into Path Valley on Friday, both have yet to win to their credit this season. Jacob Hawkins (4th in points), Michael Norris (10th in points), Tyler Carpenter (18th in points), and Gregg Satterlee (19th in points) have one win each.

Braeden Dillinger, a frequent visitor to Latrobe Speedway in the K2 Engineering Crate Late Model division, sits in sixth place in the Jay’s Automotive ULMS Super Late Model Series.

“I have a lot of laps around the track in a Crate Late Model, but not many in a Super Late Model,” Dillinger said. “I’ll be running my Super Late Model, and Bill Holzer’s 28H Crate Late Model on Saturday.”

“Latrobe is twenty-five minutes from my house; I love the place,” Dillinger said. “I am excited to race the Super Late Model at Latrode Speedway,my local track.”

Dillinger won two Crate Late Model races in July 2022 at Latrobe Speedway.

In the ULMS Rookie of the Year battle, Dillinger is in fourth place in the points standing.

Appearing with the ULMS Super Late Models on Saturday, July 22, will be the K2 Engineering Crate Late Models, Joe’s Auto Body & Towing Pure Stocks for the makeup Bill Finlay Memorial paying $1,500 to win, the Special T Metals LLC Modified 4 Cylinders, and the Marilungo Disposal LLC Strictly Stock 4 Cylinders.
