Latrobe Speedway Season Off to a Great Start

LATROBE, PA (May 1, 2024): Get ready for the heart-pounding FAST-FIVE action as it returns to the Big Half-Mile, Latrobe Speedway this Saturday.

 

On the thrilling opening night, double points were awarded, setting the stage for a fiercely competitive season. With several top contenders absent, the points race is shaping up to be a nail-biter!

 

This week, the FAST-Five divisions in action include the K2 Engineering Fastrak Pro Late Models, Joe’s Body Shop and Towing Pure Stocks, the Special T Metals LLC Modified 4 Cylinders, the Marilungo Disposal LLC Strictly Stock 4 Cylinders, and the Dean Pollock Hobby Stocks.

 

The Latrobe Speedway Kidz Klub will feature a tire Bean Bag toss at 5:15. To register for the Kidz Klub, go to www.latrobemotorsports.com.

 

Pit Gates open at 4 p.m., Grandstands at 5, and racing is at 7.

 

Entry fees for Saturday, May 4, are:

GENERAL ADMISSION –

Adults: $15.00

Seniors: $12.00

Military: $12.00

Kids 7-11: $10.00

Kids 6&U: FREE

Pit Adult: $35.00

Pit Youth: $20.00

 

Remember, on Saturday, May 11, the ULMS Late Models return for the Dave Kittey Memorial, a 30-lap, $4,000-to-win, $500-to-start. Additional awards will be presented. So far, there is a $100 award for Fast-time. We have $300 for the Hard Charger, $100 for each heat race winner, the Longest Tow will collect $100, and a $100 Hard Luck Award.  

 

Some of the region’s best Super Late Model drivers will be in attendance.

Michael Lake, from Uniontown, currently sits third in the Jay’s Automotive Championship Point Standings but also leads the Chew on This-Jerky Rookie of the Year point standings. Lake is one of the Lindemuth Laser Etching Elite Eight drivers following the series as a full-time member. The other full-time members include Tyler Emory, Ryan Montgomery, Logan Zarin, Dave Stamm, Dylan Fenton, Dylan Lewis, and Colton Flinner.
