5/21/22 Allegheny Sprints 305 (CLM, PRO ST, MOD 4 CYL, SS 4 CYL)
Frazee, Jasen, Jacobs, Pease & Hutira All First Time Winners at Latrobe Speedway
  • Five new winners graced victory lane for the 2022 season at Latrobe Speedway on Saturday night. The Allegheny Racesaver 305 Sprints made their first visit of the season with Tommy Jasen scoring the win. Ryan Frazee picked up the K2 Engineering Crate Late Model feature with Brett Hutira winning the Special T Metals Pro Stocks. In the Stone & Co Modified 4 Cylinders it was Bob Pease in victory lane while Joe Jacobs took home the honors in the Stock 4 Cylinders.
  • The K2 Engineering Crate Late Models saw Ryan Frazee use his front row starting spot to quickly grab the lead. Clate Copeman chased him for two laps before last week's winner Michael Duritsky assumed the chase on lap three. Duritsky applied the pressure with Copeman and John Over following. Frazee was up to the challenge and led all 20-laps for his first win of the early season. Duritsky was second over Copeman, Over, Braeden Dillinger, Troy Shields, Andrew Koenig, Cameron Campbell, Jake Gunn and Dylan Burkett. Heat races were won by Shields, Campbell and Over.
  • The Allegeheny Racesaver 305 Sprints were making their annual appearance and it was Tommy Jasen scoring his first win of the season in the 15-lap event. At the drop of the green Jacob Gomola took the point leading the first three laps. Fellow front row starter, Tommy Jasen, passed Gomola for the lead. Jasen led the final nine laps to score the checkered flag. Greg Dobrosky finished second followed by Jeremy Kornbau, Jacob Gomola, Jay Fry, Jarrett Rosencrance and Kyle Colwell. Gomola won the lone heat.
  • In the 15-lap Special T Metals Pro Stocks Brett Hutira passed veteran Joe Kelly to earn the win. Kelly started third and quickly grabbed the lead on the opening lap. Kelly and Hutira battled for the top spot with Brandon Doland close behind. Hutira studied Kelly's moves for twelve laps before making the winning pass with just three to go. Hutira went on to capture his first of the season over Joe Kelly, Brandon Doland, Tommy Demboski, Brett McDonald, Sam Eichelberger, Jacob Weyer, Bill Pluta, Jr., Jeremy Fama and Bill Slade. Qualifying heats went to Demboski and Doland.
  • It was all Bob Pease in the 12-lap Stone & Co Modified 4 Cylinder division. Pease led every lap while the battle for second took place behind him. Colton McNaney and Paul Koffler III exchanged the runner up spot numerous times while Pease was out front. Koffler was able to get around McNaney with two to go, Pease crossed the finish line for his first win this year, Paul Koffler III, Colton McNaney, Mark Seiler, Dale Grubbs, Brandon Meyers, Jeremy Grubbs, Wyatt Piper, Mike Pavlak and Brian Noel completed the top ten. Heats for the 21 car field were won by Tiffany McElhose, Paul Koffler III and Bob Pease.
  • The 12-lap Sealtite Stock 4 Cylinder feature saw Joe Jacobs led all the way to capture the feature win. Justin Connor finished second over CJ Parrill, Matt Underwood and Andrew Geary.

Kelley, Hazlett & Parrill New Winners at Latrobe Speedway; Duritsky & Pease Repeat
  • Joe Kelley (Special T Metals Pro Stocks), Stephen Hazlett (Joe's Body & Towing Pure Stocks) and CJ Parrill (Seal-Tite Strictly Stock 4 Cylinders) each won their first wins of the season Saturday night at Latrobe Speedway. Pulling of repeat wins were Michael Duritsky (K-2 Engineering Crate Late Models) and Bob Pease (Stone & Co Modified 4 Cylinders).
  • Stephen Hazlett led all 12-laps to score his second career feature win in the Joe's Body & Towing Pure Stocks. It wasn't easy as he was pressured by Latrobe Pure Stock Kingpin Anthony Monteparte. Hazlett grabbed the lead with Jim Hixon and Monteparte in tow. Monteparte wasn't able to get around Hixon until lap four and set chase on Hazlett. Monteparte closed in the pair put on a driving clinic. Monteparte made several attempts but Hazlett was up for the challenge and score the checkered flag. The Hazlett team was going to load up, but in a show of sportsmanship, the Monteparte team lent them a fuel punp so they could race. Monteparte was second over John Hollis, Corey Faris, John Cain, Jim Hixon, Bo Kwasny, Bill Finlay, Shawn Hollis and Tim Neiderhiser. Justin Ruff and Anthony Monteparte were the heat winners.
  • In the 12-lap Stone & Co Modified 4 Cylinder feature it was Bob Pease making it two straight.
  • Pease shot up from his seventh starting spot to grab the lead on lap one and never look back. A royal rumble going on behind him. Colton McNaney, Paul Koffler III and Tylar Huffman were battling for the runnerup spot. When the checker flew it was Pease over Paul Koffler III, Colton McNaney, Tylar Huffman, Wyatt Piper, Brandon Myers, Todd Detrick, Tiffany McElhose, Shawn Ghrist and Brian Noel. Taking qualifying wins were Tyler Laughard, Wyatt Piper and Bob Pease.
  • Joe Kelley returned to victory lane in15-lap Special T Metals Pro Stocks. Joe led all 15-lap to secure the win. Brandon Dolland was right on Kelley's bumper for the first four laps before faltering on a lap five restart. Tommy Dembowski took up the chase but Kelley was long gone, and even though his motor skipped a few beats on a couple laps, he was able to score the win. Dembowski was second followed by Brett McDonald, Marty Spade and Joey Zambotti. Dolland won the lone heat.
  • Michael Duritsky took advantage of his outside front row starting spot to take the lead at the drop of the green in the 20-lap K-2 Engineering Crate Late Model main. John Over kept him in his sights all twenty-laps but did have enough to challenge the flying Duritsky. At the checker it was Duritsky over Over, Ryan Frazee, Clate Copeman, Troy Shields, Noah Brunell (from 21st), Braeden Dillinger, Matt Sponaugle, Andrew Koenig and Rob King. Heat winners for the 21 car field went to Jeff Ferguson, Clate Copeman and Matt Sponaugle. Sponaugle Towing and an anonymous donor each put up $100 giving the winner a $200 bonus. Thank you to both
  • CJ Parrill led all 12-laps in the Seal-Tite Strictly Stock 4 Cylinders for his career first win in the class. Two time winner Joe Jacobs was second followed by Matt Underwood, Brad Dickey and Justin Connors. Jacobs won the heat.
  • With three Super Late Model specials within two hours, along with numerous drivers still not able to get engine parts, only a couple late models were on hand. The drivers and Latrobe Speedway were going to run a shortened event but Dan Angelicchio blew his motor on the last lap of a heat. Tommy Beck was declared the winner.

6/4/22 Fan Appreciation Night (CLM, PRO ST, PS, MOD 4 CYL, SS 4 CYL)
Career First Win for Brandon Doland in Latrobe Speedway Pro Stocks; Jeff Ferguson Wins First of the Season in Crate Late Model.
  • Saturday night saw two first time winners at Latrobe Speedway. Pittsburgh's Brandon Doland was able to lead all 15-laps to win his career first checker in the Special T Metals Pro Stocks. Jeff Ferguson won for the first time in almost a year in the K2 Engineering Crate Late Models. Anthony Monteparte made it win number two in the Joe's Body Shop Pure Stocks while Dale Grubbs won in a photo finish in the Stone & Co Modified 4 Cylinders. Joe Jacobs captured his third win in the Seal-Tite Strictly Stock 4 Cylinders.
  • The night got started with a battle royal in the 12-lap Stone & Co. Modified 4 Cylinder A-Main. Dale Grubbs started on the pole looking for his second win this season. Grubbs took the initial lead being challenged by Mike Pavlak and Tiffani McElhose. Tenth starting Jeremy Grubbs slowly worked his way forward and took over second from Pavlak on lap nine. The Grubbs cousins then went at it in a side-by-side battle the final two laps. A near photo finish saw Dale Grubbs hold off Jeremy for the win. Behind Jeremy Grubbs for third was Tylar Huffman, Mike Pavlak, Dayton Hazlett, Wyatt Piper, Brandon Meyers, Brian Noel, Brian Spangler and Andy Jones. Qualifying heats were won by Paul Koffler III, Wyatt Piper and Dayton Hazlett.
  • Anthony Monteparte was singing Meatloaf's Two Out of Three Ain't Bad as that's exactly what he did. The Jeannette driver made it two wins in three tries in the Joe's Body Shop Pure Stocks. Monteparte took advantage of his pole starting spot to quickly grab the lead. He built up a huge lead when a caution on lap six closed the field. After a few consecutive cautions the race finally went green and Monteparte took off. He went on to claim his 25th career win at the track in dominating fashion. Jim Hixon had a good run for second followed by Corey Faris, EJ Rozak, Ron Ramsey, Dakota Hixson, John Hollis, Dennis Collins, Tim Neiderhiser and Jim Zufall. Steven Hazlett and EJ Rozak were the heat winners.
  • Brandon Doland moved up to the Special T Metals Pro Stocks this season. Doland led all 15-laps to score his career first victory. Doland first held off the challenges of Marty Spade before Tommy Dembowski moved into the runnerup spot on lap five. Dembowski tried his best but Doland wasn't to be denied as he claimed the exciting first checkered. Dembowski was second over Spade, Sam Eichelberger and Jacob Weyer.
  • The 20-lap K2 Engineering Crate Late Model was a battle of the 11's. Jeff Ferguson and Troy Shields fought it out for the number one spot with Braeden Dillinger and Michael Duritsky in tow. Shields made numerous advances before giving up the battle to Michael Duritsky on lap 17. Ferguson was not to be denied in winning his second victory at Latrobe Speedway. His last win came on July 31, 2021. Duritsky was second followed by Ryan Frazee, Troy Shields, Braeden Dillinger, Michael Ott, John Over, Marino Angelicchio, Clate Copeman and Dylan Burkett. Heat wins sent to Duritsky and Dillinger.
  • CJ Parrill was looking for a second win in the 1-2-lap Seal-Tite Strictly Stock 4 Cylinder feature. Parrill led the opening three laps before heat winner Joe Jacobs made the winning pass. Jacobs led the final nine laps for his third win this season. Parrill was second over Matt Underwood, Brad Dickey and Justin Connors.

6/18/22 Father's Day Spectacular Pa. Vintage Modified (CLM, PRO ST, PS, MOD 4 CYL, SS 4 CYL)
LATROBE, PA (June 19, 2022) – Level Green’s Sam Eichelberger parked his Special T Metals Pro Stock in victory lane for his career first Latrobe Speedway win. Corey Faris claimed his first of the season in the Joe’s Body Shop Pure Stock. Repeat winners were Michael Duritsky (K2 Engineering Crate Late Models), Bob Pease (Stone & Co 4 Cylinders) and CJ Parrill (Seal Tite Strictly Stock 4 Cylinders) and Hank Coles won the PA Vintage Modifieds.

 

  • Corey Faris used his outside front row starting spot to good advantage in the Joe’s Auto Body Pure Stocks. Faris took off at the start and started to pull away, Stephen Hazlett held the second spot as seventh starting Anthony Monteparte quickly worked his way into third. Hazlett and Monteparte battled for the runnerup spot. Monteparte finally got around on the last lap and had to settle for the second spot over Hazlett, EJ Rozak, Justin Ruff, John Cain, Bill Finlay, Dakota Hixson, Bill Schramm and Ron Ramsey. Heats went to Dakota Hixson and Anthony Monteparte.
  • The Seal Tite Strictly Stock 4 Cylinders saw a good battle between CJ Parrill and Joe Jacobs for the first five laps. Jacobs went over the top of the track and this put Joe Huffman in the second spot. Huffman tried his best but Parrill was not to be denied his second win of the season. Huffman, Matt Underwood, Justin Connors and Joe Jacobs rounded out the field. Jacobs won the heat.
  • Michael Duritsky and Noah Brunell led the K2 Engineering Crate Late Model feature to the drop of the green. Red hot Duritsky had the lead as the field went in to turn one. The only way anyone got close was a yellow. Duritsky was on a rail glidding to his third win this season at Latrobe. John Over came home second ahead of Braeden Dillinger, Jeff Ferguson, Noah Brunell, Clate Copeman, Colby Beighey, Ryan Frazee, Cameron Campbell and Dylan Burketti. Qualifying heats went to Brunell and Duritsky.
  • The Special T Metals Pro Stocks saw a career first time winner in Sam Eichelberger. Eichelberger led all 12 laps and held off a close Brett Hutira to take the win. Anthony Monteparte, who made his Pro Stock debut in Joe Kelley’s car, lost third on the final lap to Tommy Dembowski. Marty Spade completed the top five. Eichelberger also won the heat.
  • Paul Koffler III took the lead at the start of the Stone & Co Modified 4 Cylinder feature. Koffler first led Brian Noel before seventh starting Bob Pease took over the chase on lap three. Koffler and Pease put on a show for fans chasing each other through traffic. Pease was able to make the winning pass on lap eleven and drove off to win number three on the season. Koffler held on to second over Tiffani McElhose, Dale Grubbs, Brian Noel, Andrew Jones, Wyatt Piper, Josh Grubbs. Dayton Hazlett and Mike Pavlak. Qualifying heats were won by Dale Grubbs, Paul Koffler and Bob Pease.
  • Hank Coles ran away and hid in the PA Vintage Modified main. Steve Longo held off a fast closing Todd Daughenbaugh with Sportsman winner Jeff Manners fourth over John Marks.
  • In the five laps Dad Dash John Monteparte passed Barry Faris with two to go for the win.
