Dillinger, Jeremy Zufall, Meyers, Nedrow, and Boggio Pick Up Double Points at Latrobe Speedway Opener

LATROBE, PA (April 27, 2024)- The FAST-Five divisions set the track ablaze with their thrilling performances at the 2024 season opener at Latrobe Speedway, leaving the fans on the edge of their seats.

In the K2 Engineering FASTrak Pro Late Models, Braeden Dillinger won, Brandon Meyers was victorious in the Joe’s Body Shop Pure Stocks, Jeremy Zufall held off the field in the Special T Metals Mod 4, Seth Nedrow won in the Marilungo Disposal LLC Strictly Stocks, and Dontae Boggio visited Victory Lane in the Dean Pollock Hobby Stocks.

Braden Dillinger (14D) sat on the pole alongside Ryan Frazee (17F) to start the 20-lap feature for the K2 Engineering FASTrak Pro Late Models. Dillinger led all 20 laps, but it was closer than it had appeared. Just as the top four would bunch up, there would be a caution to calm things down. On lap 11, Clinton Hersh (16) would make a move on Frazee (17F) for second, and Dan Angelicchio (14A) would also pass Frazee (17F) to hold down the third spot, which relegated Frazee (17F) to fourth. The field would finish that way with Lane Brock (20B) from Bruceton Mills, WV, in fifth; sixth went to George Casto III, 16-years-old from Reynoldsville, WV. Rounding out the field were Troy Shields (11), Vince Masi Jr (61), Noah Brunell (31), John Over (K2), Jay McCracken (711), and Chuck Recker (6). Heat races were won by Dillinger (14D) and Frazee (17F). Dillinger set fast-time in qualifying.

The FASTrak Pro Late Model Drivers are vying for the $10,000 top prize in the VP Racing Weekend Warrior Weekly Point Standings. FASTrak Pro Late Model Drivers must join by July 1 to be eligible. Drivers can complete registration forms found at www.fastrakracing.com.

In the Joe’s Body Shop Pure Stocks, Jeremy Zufall won over a strong field of competitors. Due to a shortage of engine parts, reigning Champion Anthony Moneteparte and EJ Rozak will be on the sidelines for several weeks, allowing other racers to shine on double points night.

Zufall (1) lined up on the outside pole along with Corey Faris (22) in the feature. Zufall (1) took off coming out of Turn 1, and while Faris (22F) stayed close, the Uniontown driver never got close enough to Zufall (1) to mount a challenge. Zufall (1) took the win with Faris (22F), and the 06 of John Cain were the top 3. Fourth went to Matt Weltz (717), with Jim Zufall (3Z) finishing fifth. Zufall(1) and Faris (22F) were the heat race winners.

The Special T Metals LLC Modified Four Cylinders put on an excellent race for the fans. Colton McNaney (51) was forced to the Pits twice with a fuel injection problem during the feature but still managed not to lose a lap. Brandon Myers (307) started to the outside of McNaney (51) on the front row. On lap 6, McNaney (51) brought out the first caution as he stopped on the front stretch. Myers (307) had the lead, followed by Andrew Jones (513) and Tifani McElhose (24). On lap ten, after returning to the Pits, McNaney was in the ninth spot. McNaney closed the gap, moving from fifth to third, then from third to second. Myers would take the win over McNaney (51) by 0.113 seconds. Jones (513) was third, McEhose (24) was fourth, and Mike Pavlak (47) finished fifth. Andrew Jones (513) and McNaney (51) were the heat race winners.

In the Marilungo Disposal LLC Strictly Stock 4 Cylinders, Seth Nedrow (26)came from the sixth starting spot to claim the win on opening night with double points on the line. Ed Leonard (6) captured second from fourth, and Justin Connors (21) finished third. Fourth went to Brian Noel (39), and fifth to Dylan Nedrow (16).

Dontae Boggio (30) from Latrobe won the feature in the Dean Pollock Hobby Stocks. Jason Dieter (28) came in second, Bryce Hensel (5) came in third, and Vincent Kolishinsky (84) came in fourth. Boggio (30) won the heat race.
